Europa Konzert in Prague with Sir Simon Rattle and Madgalena Kožená: Pictures of the concert
Remember: two weeks ago, medici.tv announced that they would broadcast the anniversary concert of the Berliner Philharmoniker in Prague.
You can watch the 2013 Europa Konzert here. Starring the Berliner Philharmoniker’s music director Sir Simon Rattle and the Czech mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená, the concert took place in the wonderful Spanish Hall of the Prague Castle. The Prague Castle an iconic building of the Czech Republic. The Spanish Hall, in which the concert took place, is known for its impressive size and its neo-roccoco style.


Together with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Sir Simon Rattle and Magdalena Kožená celebrate the orchestra’s anniversary.

The prestigious Berliner Philharmoniker will perform in Prague directed by its music director Sir Simon Rattle. The Czech mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená is the special guest of this event, which can be watched free of charge on medici.tv!
Every year, the Berliner Philharmoniker celebrates its own creation in 1882 with the Europa Konzert. This year, the orchestra invites one of the most popular mezzo-soprano of our days, Magdalena Kožená. Held in the Spanish Hall at the Prague Castle, the concert will start with a work from the last century, the Fantasy on a theme by Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Composed after the Psalms, the Ten Biblical Songs by Dvorák will continue the show. A true celebration of the countryside, the Sixth Symphony by Beethoven, also called “Pastoral”, will conclude the concert.

This year, the Berliner Philharmoniker has chosen to celebrate its birthday in the beautiful Spanische Hofreitschule in Vienna, where the orchestra will perform a gala concert, featuring Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and the French cellist Gautier Capuçon.
