Does singing belong to singers?
We sing all the time, sometimes even without meaning too!
Whether for huming while making cofee or to warm up our voice in the shower – rock’n roll step and head shower as a microphone -, singing draws everywhere into our lifes.
When we sing, we express our joyful dispositions, our melancholy, sometimes our sorrows and speaking of that, it is funny to think that we often consider the words of the others better than ours to describe our own mood; what can be better than an intermediate between us and our selves to give us some relief… !
We also sing collectively, for political, religious and sports events, we sing to belong to a community, to vibrate together on the same wavelength.
But that is not all. When we sing, we show something that comes from far beyond and that needs to escape somehow. Singing is also letting a small breath of fresh air and freedom pass into our lives, it’s living, in a word! It is significant in that sense that we do not like singing out of tune, we have the feeling to disturb the harmony of the universe when we do, right?
So whatever, as would the great Irish writer Samuel Beckett say « “When you’re in the shit up to your neck, there’s nothing left to do but sing.” !
