Dear Mr. Lugansky, you are widely known for your ability to play Rachmaninov with the perfect touch, exquisite musicality, and the passion that creates the magic in music. I have always been in love with your Rachmaninov, but what also amazes me is your ability to change yourself when you play other works by Liszt, Chopin, etc. Does it just take years of focus and experience to go so easily from Prokofiev to Beethoven? How have you mastered the right style for each composer and then move so quickly from one to the other? I myself tend to get stuck in the style of one composer for a short while before I can really embody the next. And one last question! When do you think you will hold concerts in southern California, in LA or San Diego? It would be one of the greatest pleasures in my life to see you play live!
What need to sacrifice the true musician?
